Summer Tours, Theatre, and…Capture the Flag? An Interview with Everett Noble
by Mara Bech
How did you get started in music?
When I was 14 I got my first bass and I immediately started to play with my brother Hayes. It worked out that he needed a bass player and I was the only one who would be able to play with him. From then on it just kind of kept going and now it’s my favorite thing ever.
You moved to Spokane from Illinois — is the music scene different?
The Spokane music scene is very different. Illinois was different just because it wasn’t as big. It was good for where we were located because we in between Chicago, Madison, Quad Cities, and Iowa City. But Spokane is something else. The way the scene is like a big family is so awesome. Everyone is so kind and creative and I’m so glad to be a part of the community.
Can you tell me about a highlight from your summer tour?
I think the best memory of my summer tour was when I went back to Illinois and played a show in my hometown. It was so special to me to be able to see my friends and family again all in one place. I miss that place every day, so being able to go back and see my friends and family was very special.
In addition to music, you’re very involved in Tiger Drama here at LC. How did you get started in theatre?
I first found out I had a passion for theatre when I went and saw “Of Mice and Men” with my parents. I was still a kid, but something about seeing a highschool production of that show and seeing it done well just made something click for me. From that point on, I knew I wanted to be a part of theatre. My first ever show was a high school production of “Bye Bye Birdie”. My favorite memory in Tiger Drama so far was “12 Angry Jurors” in its entirety. That show was so great because I got close with all of the cast members and it was just a great bonding experience. I miss it every day!
Can you tell me about the Instagram page you run, 509 Activities?
509 Activities is the best thing I have ever started. My friend Townsyn and I had the idea of bringing a lot of people together to play fun games — the games we all missed from our childhood. So we said screw it and started having these games! We started small but some games we had over 100 people show up. I think the most important thing about 509 Activities is bringing people together and making new friendships.
When is your next concert?
My next show is Saturday, December 21st! Come and have a great time at the Garland Theatre! It should be a great time!
